Description
What the bribe bought
The bribes helped the firm obtain contracts with NHS health boards. The BBC reports the company acquired, used and possessed a total of £5,719,244 of "criminal property", the proceeds of the contracts (a reported figure, not an official profit finding).
What happened
An Ayrshire-based telecommunications firm gave two senior NHS employees approximately £88,000 worth of cash, gifts and holidays in return for commercially sensitive information. The contracts covered supply and maintenance of telecoms and video-conferencing equipment. The payments ran between 2010 and 2017. A jury at the High Court in Glasgow convicted four men. Prison sentences were later reduced by a Bill of Advocation on 20 May 2026. Confiscation proceedings are still to follow.
