What the bribe bought

The bribes got a technology company's CEO a better deal: Isavia was made to pay a higher price than could be considered normal for parking-gate access tickets bought from his company.

What happened

A service manager at Isavia, who oversaw its parking facilities at Keflavík Airport, was charged with receiving just under 3.5 million krónur in bribes from the CEO of a technology company. The bribes were meant to make Isavia pay a higher price than normal for parking-gate access tickets. The offences took place in 2015 and 2016. On 19 October 2022 the Supreme Court of Iceland found both men guilty of complicity in breach of trust and bribery and increased their sentences.
