What happened

The managing director of a supplier of landfill technology gave benefits worth a total of EUR 696,325.10 in 2015–2019 to the managing director of a waste-disposal company that operated several landfills in Brandenburg. The benefits were cash on 47 occasions plus VIP season tickets for sports events, bought six times. In return, his company was favoured in contract awards. The Landgericht Neuruppin convicted him of bribery in 53 cases on 19 January 2024 and sentenced him to three years and six months. The Federal Court of Justice rejected his revision on 6 August 2025, which made the conviction final.
